Halo Around the Moon

Is it a good sign? I don’t know, but it was beautiful and pretty chilly the other night when we had clear skies and I went to see what I could capture at the site. This was about 3-4 hours of work shooting. I’ve almost thawed out now.

The “halo” is caused by ice crystals refracting the moon light. See the link below the movie for a description of the effect.

Vince Condella from Fox 6 News will feature this video (without mentioning SFB or the location) on Sunday Evening’s news around 9:45pm. (12-7-2014)
